GROWING BRANDS

Restocks that match the first run.

Once a product sells, the manufacturing problem changes. It stops being about getting one good garment made and starts being about getting the same good garment made again, on a predictable cycle, in a parcel that survives a courier. That is what this page is about.

Direct-to-consumer brands live and die on consistency. Your customer bought a hoodie in March, liked it, and orders another in September. If the second one is half a shade off, or the sleeve sits differently, they notice immediately, and the return lands on your margin rather than on the factory's.

So the work on a repeat order is mostly documentation and discipline: an approved sealed sample kept at the factory, a written specification that does not drift, recorded dye lots, and inspection against both. None of it is exciting. All of it is why run three looks like run one.

We are a full-package manufacturer in Tirupur, so fabric, cut, sew, decoration, finishing and packing sit under one process and one point of contact.

The things that must not drift between runs

A repeat order is only as good as the record it is built from. These are the records we keep.

The sealed sample

The garment you approved is tagged and kept at the factory. Every subsequent run is inspected against it, so the standard is a physical object rather than a memory of a conversation. How inspection works.

The specification

Points of measure, grading, bill of materials, construction notes, stitch types, print and trim placement. Locked, versioned and reused. If you want to change something on the next run, it becomes a deliberate revision instead of a surprise.

Fabric and GSM

The same knit, the same weight, the same finish. We record the exact fabric specification so a restock is not quietly built from whatever was on the shelf. Read the GSM guide.

Colour

Shades are Pantone matched and dye lots are recorded against the style. On colour-critical products we recommend booking fabric for the restock at the same time as the original, which removes the largest source of variation.

Decoration

Print method, ink, placement and size are stored with the style. DTG, DTF, puff, HD, sublimation and embroidery run in house. Screen printing runs through vetted partner units, managed by our QA team, so bulk graphics stay in the same process.

Trims and labels

Woven labels, care labels, hang tags, drawcords and hardware are specified by supplier and code, not by description. Label changes are the most common unplanned difference between a first run and a second.

// Restock cycles

Planning the reorder before you run out

Bulk takes 25 to 55 days depending on the product, so a restock decided on the day you sell the last unit is already six to eight weeks late. The brands that never go out of stock place the repeat when the sell-through rate tells them to, not when the shelf empties.

We will plan that with you. Tell us your expected sell-through and we will work back from your target in-stock date to the day the order has to be confirmed, including fabric booking, which is usually the longest lead item on a specific colour.

If you are adding a colourway rather than repeating an existing one, allow for sampling on top: 10 to 22 days for the new shade to be approved before bulk can start.

// Packing

Packed for a courier, not a shelf

Direct-to-consumer stock gets handled differently from wholesale stock, so it gets finished differently.

Individually bagged

Each unit is pressed, folded and polybagged so it can go straight from your carton into a shipping mailer without being reworked at your end. Fewer touches means fewer creases and fewer returns.

Branded finishing

Woven labels, printed care labels, hang tags, stickers and tissue can all be applied at the factory. The parcel your customer opens looks finished rather than assembled.

Carton and size breakdown

Cartons are packed to an agreed size ratio and labelled so your fulfilment partner can shelve stock without opening and re-sorting every box.

// Questions

Common questions

It is inspected against the sealed sample you approved, with Pantone matched colour and recorded dye lots, so it will be close. Knitwear does carry a small natural tolerance between dye lots, which is physics rather than carelessness. On colour-critical styles the fix is to book fabric for both runs at once, and we will flag when that applies.

The same as a first order: from 50 pieces per style per colour, with sizes split freely inside a colour. That lets you restock a bestseller without carrying a season of stock you have not sold yet.

Work back from your target in-stock date by the bulk lead time for that product, 25 to 55 days, and add fabric booking time. Add 10 to 22 days on top if the run includes a new colourway that needs sampling. Send us your sell-through and we will map the dates with you.

Yes. Fit tweaks, a new label, a moved print or a different drawcord are normal. We version the specification and re-seal the sample so the change is recorded and every run after it follows the new standard rather than the old one.

Booking fabric ahead of a planned restock is the practical version of this and we will quote it as part of the programme. Talk to us about your release calendar and we will tell you what can sensibly be held and what cannot.

Mainly the packing and the paperwork. Retail and wholesale programmes are closer to how we work with distributors and resellers, including QC and inspection reports on request. If you are still on your first run, start with the startups page instead.

Lock the spec, then stop worrying about it.

Send us your current product or your existing tech pack and we will quote the repeat and map the restock calendar around it.
